Romantic comedies, for me, have a mixed track record. I really have to believe that the characters actually love each other, despite all the roadblocks they endure.
That being said … there’s an Australian TV series that dropped on the Paramount+ streaming service last year, and boy was it a hoot. It’s the romantic story of Gordon, a troubled bar / restaurant owner, and his girlfriend Ashley – who have a weird meet-cute moment (let’s just say it involves a boob flash), and now they’re the owners of a special needs dog.
By the way, the dog is the “Colin from Accounts” in the show title, and yeah that’s funny as well.
Over the weekend, the third (and final) season of Colin From Accounts dropped its eight-episode season on the Paramount+ streaming app, and yes it includes Gordon, Ashley, and all their neurotic, wacky friends and family. And before you start thinking, “Oh, Chuck’s gone soft in the head for this,” understand that the storylines also deal with some deep relationship subjects – including death, commitment, insecurity, and regret. Heady stuff.
And if you’re curious … this is the trailer for the third season of Colin From Accounts. Check it out.
And yeah, I wish I could get a few more seasons of this show … but I’ll take a third (and final) season rather than have the program drag out to the point where I start thinking to myself, “Man, this show should have folded up three seasons ago.”
Check the show out, and let me know what you think in the comments below.
